The Christmas Market classic for your Home

Making roasted almonds at home is very easy and doesn't require many ingredients. But getting the timing right is crucial. The classic way to make roasted almonds at home is in a pan. That's how it works:

  1. Place sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon in a large pan and mix everything together.
  2. Then add water and let it boil.
  3. Let it simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  4. Then add the almonds to the sugar water and let the mixture simmer, stirring constantly, until the water has evaporated and a dull layer of sugar forms over the almonds.
  5. Then turn the heat down to medium and continue stirring until the sugar layer has dissolved and the almonds begin to shine. This should happen after a few minutes.
  6. Place the shiny almonds on a piece of baking paper and spread them out as well as possible to avoid large lumps and promote cooling.

Your Recipe: Roasted Almonds from the Thermomix

Preparing roasted almonds with your Thermomix is an easy and delicious way to make this popular snack at home in just 30 minutes. No burning, no endless stirring and no dirty pan. That's how it works:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C fan oven.
  2. In the meantime, heat the almonds with sugar, cinnamon and butter in the mixing bowl for 6 minutes at Varoma/reverse rotation/gentle stirring setting.
  3. Then add water and heat the mixture again for 9 minutes at Varoma/reverse rotation/level 1.
  4. Then place the almonds on a baking tray lined with baking paper and spread them out a little so that they don't stick together in large lumps.
  5. Let the almonds go into the preheated oven at 150°C for about 15 minutes until they start to bubble. As soon as this is the case, the almonds should be taken out of the oven immediately and allowed to cool.
